CWA Supports T-Mobile Workers In Ongoing Campaign- 08/04/10

The CWA is determined to support T-Mobile workers trying to unionize, but the union’s president warns that unless workers and unions can stop it, things will only get worse for unions in the U.S. Jesse Russell reports.

During the Communication Workers of America’s annual conference last week the union reasserted its support for T-Mobil workers who are seeking to organize. New Jersey Field Technician Joe Micali spoke at the conference even though he was concerned doing so could cost him his job:

New York City Faith Community Feels Called To Fight For Living Wage For Workers- 08/04/10

A majority of New York’s city council members back a bill that requires developers who get public tax subsides to pay at least $10 an hour for the permanent jobs created. The Micah Institute’s Edison Bond is part of the labor, faith and community coalition supporting the Living Wage.

[Bond]: “In the faith community we are called to address the poor, we are called to address poverty. It is important that our people in the city of New York make a fair wage.”
