United Steel Workers Formally Requests Oil Industry Re-Open National Oil Agreement On Safety- 07/07/10

The United Steel Workers has formally requested that the oil refinery industry re-open the National Oil Bargaining pattern agreement to negotiate increased health and safety provisions. USW Vice-President Gary Beevers.

[Beevers]: “Last year there were 45 refinery fires. In the first five months of 2010 there were 28 refinery fires. That’s giving us about a fire a week. e can’t continue like that.”

United Space Alliance Laying Off Up To 15 Percent Of Its Workforce- 07/07/10
