The global union movemnent is strongly protesting the murder of Rosa Altagracia Fuentes, the general secretary of the Workers’ Confederation of Honduras (CTH), trade union leader Virginia García de Sánchez and motorcyclist Juan Bautista Gálvez.
The three were killed early morning on April 24 on the highway between El Progreso and San Pedro Sula by six masked persons, according to eyewitness acccounts. Altagracia Fuentes was shot 16 times.
In a strongly worded letter (in Spanish) to Honduran President José Manuel Zelaya Rosales, Guy Ryder, general secretary of the International Trade Union Confederation (ITUC), called for
a full investigation to establish, as quickly as possible, the motives for the murders and identify those materially and intellectually responsible for these crimes, to punish them with the full weight of the law.

Our Fuentes Family is Asking to all International Organizations to please continue to pressure the Honduran Government on investigating and resolving the Assasination of our Dear Mother Altagracia Fuentes.

i dont know what its going to take for the authorities in honduras to find and convict my ants killers.
unbelivable how they are saying that she wasnt assinated but killed by a gang for her truck.
these allegations are preposterous. they didnt take the car nor all the money she had in her purse.
she was assasinated! all for nothing……. only greed for power, control, jealousy and all the corrupt people in politics and police.
somewhere out there someone knows something about who’s behind this senseless killing.
speak up if you have any kind of heart or concious!!!please find a way to do the right thing as my ant did all her life. you dont have to identify your self.
