Is Obama Telling U.S. Voters One Thing And The Canadian Government Another On NAFTA?
29th February 2008
By Doug Cunningham
Canada’s CTV News says a senior economic advisor to Barack Obama’s campaign phoned the Canadian ambassador to the U.S. and told him that Obama’s anti-NAFTA statements are just campaign rhetoric not to be taken seriously. CTV says Austan Goolsbee, a free trader economist at the University of Chicago, made the call. Rick Sloan of the International Association of Machinists says it’s outrageous.
[Sloan]: “I think this story has such powerful resonance that if it’s out people are going to stop and say wait a second. Now, he tells us one thing, but before he tells us that he signals the Canadian government that it’s only just campaign rhetoric? That’s unconscionable.”

Oh please, you guys knew Obama is lying but you never thought he’d was lying to you?
Obama has been lying all through this process promising every group what they want to hear. While the Unions been giving money and support thinking Obama wasn’t a typical Chicago politician(yeah, right!).
He’s been lying from day on..ask your bretheren union about Maytag and United. Again promised the moon and didn’t delieved, but will go after Hillary Clinton who wants to fix Nafta and bring it up but…noooo. A untried or tested candidate who has already proven that he’s for sale you’ll support.
Good luck hoping your Ponzi Scheme comes through.

It makes no sense. Even if Obama’s position on NAFTA was disengenuous, what possible motive would the Obama campaign have for sending a “wink and a nod” to a foriegn government before an election? Are the Canadians going to support John McCain otherwise and spoil the election? There’s no rational basis for doing this. Canadians can’t donate to any U.S. campaign and American voters have never been prone to being influenced by negative attacks against a candidate from outside the U.S. So what reason could Obama possibly have to appease the Canadian government?
