Economic Report

By Doug Cunningham

One in five Americans – nearly 41 million people – are working for wages and benefits hat don’t allow them to adequately make ends meet. According to a new report from the Center for Economic and Policy Research low wages, inadequate benefits mean this huge number of working Americans can’t cover the basic cost of living, yet earn too much to qualify them for government supports like Medicaid and food stamps. The report says universal health care reform would have a huge impact on these struggling working families.

This because most jobs are being moved to china, india, mexico etc.. I hear business teachers in college talking about how nafta, cafta etc.. are good things because the companies would go there any ways. This is a load crap. There should be laws in effect that don’t allow US based companies to move there factories etc.. overseas. US Citzens are losing there jobs, having to take pay cuts to keep their jobs and basically are ecomony is going to hell while large corps are making a profit. You would think if their Labor is going down that the price of the product would reflect this, but it don’t.

For example . Nike used to have their factories here. Their shoes went from 60-150 USD. They move there factory to indo china where the labor is very very cheap and still the shoes are going for the same if not more.

That is an example … you want me to goto into the oil companies etc..

I want to know what Union are trying to do for this, what is the progress and when will it be in effect
