The UAW has reached a tentative contract agreement with Chrysler after less than a day on strike. UAW President Ron Gettelfinger and UAW Vice President General Holiefield said Chrysler workers will be notified to return to work on their next available shift. The strike against Chrysler started at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday following the expiration of an extension to the current labor agreement. The UAW says the strike is recessed immediately pending a ratification vote of Chrysler UAW members. The UAW said the agreement was possible because workers made it clear to Chrysler that they needed an agreement that rewards the contributions they've made to the company.
