AFL-CIO Media Outreach fellow Rachele Huennekens spent Sunday with a group of fired-up union members determined to get out the vote among women in Kentucky.
Kentucky women are on fire! Sunday in Louisville, a group of more than 25 women, men and children were burning up with enthusiasm for energizing female voters in surrounding Jefferson County.
Gathering at a local UAW hall, we held a “Kentucky Women’s Coffee Hour” event to hand-write hundreds of postcards reminding our sisters in Jefferson County to vote in the upcoming statewide elections. The postcards (written in purple ink!) will be sent to more than 4,000 voters days before Nov. 6.
